So, I was struggling with what to do this weekend.

I wanted to make sure it wasn't another weekend in, housecleaning and Internet geeking.

It won't be.

I learned about the tradition of Drinking Practice -- similar to Fighter Practice -- from the fine folks in the Shire of Coppertee (where, to play the Order of Precedence game, you need a pair of peerages or better to open).

So, we will fling the doors open at noonish this Saturday at Chez Casa Villa Haus in downtown Salem, NY, until after breakfast Sunday morning.

(Note, if you are driving north after the Dance of the Three Dons, this could be on your way home.)

The highlight will be the serving of Master Jaji's Beef, Cheese and Guinness Soup, ala Liam.

There will also be cheese plates, and  mussels, assuming I can find them (I should be able to)..

There will be Celtic and SCA music, possible gaming, knitting and who knows what else.

Oh, and beer-tasting. Did I mention beer-tasting?

We will also be on the Interwebs for those who cannot be here. Maybe even on webcam.

RSVPs are a good thing, especially for crash space. (Puppy pile!)

Also, RSVP if you are bringing a particular beer. We will want a variety.

1. Tomorrow, our grant initiaive will be part of a Youth Summit that is expected to draw 300+ yutes to Adirondack Communioty College. If you have ever staged major events, you know that there comes a point where you reaching the top of the roller coaster, you have done everything you can do, and you take the plunge, arms in the air. Oughta be fun.

2. I presented on our grant to about 20 or so people on a youth committee today. I think I did well. Thursday night, I present to the Argyle school board. They are one of our "spotlight" communities, so we will be doing a lot of work there. I am a touch nervous.

3. If you like urban fantasy, you should be reading Shadow Unit.

4. All of the CDs I mentioned eralier have come in, and I have ripped them, and I am listening to them. Dust Rhinos' "Sociable" is a live album of all the obligatory Celtic songs. Heather Alexander has a great voice.
