1. If you are coming on Saturday for beer and food and music and good times, please RSVP either here or in private e-mail. Even if you have accepted, please confirm. I think we will start noonish with summer beers and a cheese board plate, segue into mussels steamed in beer, then attack the Stout, cheese and beef stew. (I am using Murphy's). There will then be winter beers to taste. I will be making other food. I am just waiting to hear back from folks on preferences. Feel free to bring a dessert. You are welcome to bring your favorite beer as well. You may want to check with me, because I have gotten some already. If you think you might need to crash, please bring something to sleep on. Kids are welcome but need to be supervised. There are two cats and a snake. If it's nice, there's a park across the street that folks could fight in.

We live directly on Route 22 in Salem. Please holler for directions.

2. Presentation to the school board went well. The co-worker who has been difficult to work with was great in a supporting role tonight. I specifically asked for her to come, and she was great.

3. Clarification: In my post on the new governor of New York (well, he will be Monday), it would have been possible to misconstrue what I was saying. I really needed a transition sentence in there. I think he's going to be a good governor and heal things. As a side note, he is the first Black governor in NY history and the first blind governor in U.S. History. Those are interesting facts. On a totally unrelated slant, I think that sometime we forget that vice presidents and lieutenant governors can wind up as the head person. I don't think anyone expected President Johnson or President Ford (especially President Ford). One of my issues with John McCain is his age, and even he has said he needs to pick a vice-presential candidate who can step in for him.

4. The girls are home safely. Tired, but safe. I am happy they went together.

Edited: OK, Jen? ;)
