1. Welcome, welcome, welcome to ~duchessmeng and ~lordlnyc. We're havin' a party. JUmp in.

2. I want to thank everyone who gave me the warm fuzzies by posting borthday wishes, either in my LJ or there's yesterday. Some of you, I miss an awful lot.

3. It's 51 degrees all of the sudden, but it's still a sullen grey outside.

4. My phone is taking calls, but I cannot answer them. They go straight to voice mail. I will be visiting the nice people at Verizon today.

5. The one person who might really appreciate this is [livejournal.com profile] fireroseboudicc: The Red Sox are a half-game behind division-leading Tampa. The magic number for the Red Sox to eliminate the Yankees from content for the AL East title is 161. That is all.

6. If you like basketball and dramatic story lines, you should watch tonight's UConn-Rutgers women's basketball game.

7. I will be at Coronation. Yay. I am sure I will have time to chat with folks during my "free time."

I apologize for the crossposting, but I think peers are in a position  to make unique -- and valuable -- contributions by donating their skills or the results of those skills, to the royal auctions.

Edit: I had not meant to post this here yet, but sometimes Liam cannot operate the machinery.

As part of Coronation, there will be two auctions to benefit the East Kingdom Travel Fund/Royal Fund. People have been great about contributing and participating, but trio to Estrella and Gulf Wars, along with the planning of the Royalty Dinner at Pennsic and other events mean the Auction Committee is going to make a big push at Coronation.

There will be a standard live auction, as well as a ticket-tray auction.

We already have a couple of amazing donations

Lady Tatiana will create for you a seven-foot long silk banner, to your specifications.

Master Edward Zifran of Gendy will visit your camp at Pennsic, eat your food, drink your good booze and tell stories. (What could be better?).

But do not panic. We are looking for donations large and small. Anything you can donate would be great.

With camping season approaching you might consider offering to let winning bidders join you at dinner.

You might offer instruction in fighting, fencing, archery or thrown weapons.

You might offer instructions in arts & sciences.

You might offer your services to a camp for several hours or a full day

Do you make things? You can combine A&S and service, make something spiffy and donate it.

You might have ideas of your own.

Please contact Master Liam at bill@goonbox.com with ideas and suggestions.

In Service,

Liam and the Auction Committee

1. But first, the weather. It is 65 degrees and raining. The sun is sorta out. It will get down to 31 tonight, up to 47 tomorrow and down to 17 tomorrow night/Thursday morning. Oh raptuous joy. It's not quite "wait a minute," but it's "wait a couple hours." Oh, the rain stopped.

2. I got an absolute ton of work done today. I think I knocked between 15 and 20 items off my to-do lists, including getting the phone fixed! I took it in, they looked at it while I ate lunch, and they gave me a new one. Of course, the first attempt at programming it didn't work, but after calling the nice people at Verizon, lo and behold, it worked.

3. I was overhwhelmed with the birthday response, both here and in other folks' journals. I have been struggling a bit of late, and all those comments and wishes made me feel pretty terrific. For those counting, this is No. 49. I never imagined.

4. I also have to say that my friends have overwhelmed me with donations for the EK Travel/Royal Fund. I know I ask a lot. I do it, because I think it's important. But I know I can be annoying. (No Liam, not *you*). Anyway, I probably have more than a dozen donations just from that single post, which was meant for [livejournal.com profile] ek_peers . I had already posted to [livejournal.com profile] sca_east, and I didn't want to overwhelm folks here just yet. So far, by the way, I have gotten a couple of responses off the EK mailing list,  and a bucketload here, but none from those other two places. Ya'all rock!

5. I stopped posting long enough to grab the leftover three-quarters of a pound of ground beef, cut up half an onion, dumped in an egg, basil, garlic, some cut-up smoked Provolone and enough breadcrumbs to make it stick together. I buttered a small loaf pan and tossed it in. There will be meatloaf sandwiches!!!!!

6. I was thinking about perhaps meeting some friends for a pub lunch at the Long Trail Brewery Sunday afternoon  in  East Bridgewater, Vt. It's near Killingtom and Pico, and near the intersection of Routes 4 and 100. Think about it and let me know.

1. First of all, let me say that after I posted that the rain had stopped, we had a wicked thunderstorm.

2. [livejournal.com profile] alethea_eastrid wanted to go to Saratoga after she got out of work today, and I knew that part of the reason was to get me a bitrthday present. (If you are a science fiction/urban fantasy fan, you might know where this is going.) Turns out, today was the release date for Jim Butcher's latest Harry Dresden novel, "Small Favor." Pardon me, while I squee like a fanboy.  I love her. ;)

3. I am in the process of re-launching my beer blog, strictly as a beer blog. It's called Short Pours, but you'll want to give it a few more days to get up to speed,

4. I am also starting to do some freelance writing and editing, including newsletter design and public relations as the Adirondack Wordsmith. There will be a related blog site for that as well. Again, still in the early stages. But I am happy to discuss any projects you might have.
