1. Been a busy week at work. Conference Monday and Tuesday, working on evaluating Mini-Grants, planning two big meetings next week, meeting with the Warren County District Attorney yesterday and running around like a madman today. I feel as though I am falling behind in posting.

2. If you like urban fantasy, if you know what urban fantasy is, if you can read . . .  you need to go to Shadow Unit right now and get started. Just trust me.

3. The NHL Stanley Cup finals are starting. Any guesses as to who is in them. I could not have told you before I read it in the paper today.

4. It is a raw, drippy miserable night in the North Country. Big, ploppy raindrops. It is supposed to be nice on Saturday and Sunday.

5. All of a sudden, the Red Sox have the best record in baseball, and the Magic Number is 107. (Yes, I had to look.)

1. I may have mentioned this before, but I listen to a lot of NPR here in the North Country. That's been especially true since I got my truck, which has a CD player and FM radio only. Today was a great example. I got to hear interviews with the Dalai Lama and with New York Gov. David Paterson. Great stuff. I also marvel at "All Things Considered" having the timing to have its folks in China, near the earthquake zone *before* the earthquake. They were there for a series on China and have had some great reporting since the earthquake.

2. I do love Toby Keith.

She said, "I've seen you in here before."
I said, "I've been here a time or two."
She said, "Hello, my
name is Bobby Jo
meet my twin sister Betty Lou
and we're both feeling kinda wild tonight
and you're the only cowboy in this place
and if you're up for a rodeo
I'll put a big Texas smile on
your face"
I said, "Girls,"

I ain't as good as I once was
I got a few years on me now
but there was a time, back in my prime
when I could really lay it down
and if you need some love tonight
then I might have just enough
I ain't as good as I once was
but I'm as good once, as I  ever was

3. To all my geek friends: Guitar Hero 4 is coming this Fall.

4. A couple of things from my 365 Beers calendar

Interesting fact: The role of yeast in beer was unknown until 1876 when Louis Pasteur scientifically explained its role in the process.

Wrong: Laughing Dog Hot Chihuahua beer. A product of Ponderay, Idaho. Brewed with dried chili peppers.
