My Father's Day gift . . .
Jun. 15th, 2008 05:37 pmSo I get up this morning and find that
evilnicola has posted the following in her LJ.
Note: Posted with her permission, and I added line breaks.
Happy Father's Day Daddy.
Yes. I am the fruit of your loins. (I'm sorry to the rest of you for that image, but it is his day, so go screw)
Thank you for changing my diapers, feeding me, not falling down the stairs with me or dropping me.
Thank you for nights at the Day Newspaper, money for the snack machines, permission to bother the photo-techs.
Thank you for taking me to the Waterford Speedbowl every Saturday night.
Thank you for road trips and forcing me to listen to audiobooks about JFK.
Thank you for introducing me to the SCA, to exposing me to "alternative" relationships and people, for listening when I gush over a new boy or girl.
Thank you for your enthusiasm on the sidelines of the fighting field, for the joy on your face when you extol my virtues to someone else.
Thank you for asking my advice.
Thank you for taking it every once in a while.
Thank you for driving me wherever I needed to be, for Green Day and Jimmy Buffett, in the truck on the way to school, for stopping into the nurse's office for the 3rd or 4th time in a week.
Thank you for your faith.
In the Red Sox, in good baseball movies, in Animal House, but most importantly, in me.
Thank you for being my daddy
