Thursday evening: A collection of stuff and thoughts . . .

1. Greetings to  mjolnir1964. I think you will fit in just fine here.

2. Things I never thought before I was in the SCA:

"Oh, good. I have to pee, and it's yellow."

3. lyanna_beth was thinking about me and sent me this fabulous story about wiffleball. Pssst, farmhouse_ghost, you gotta look.

4. Amazon was thinking about me and recommended a CD called Frozen Ropes and Dying Quails.

5. I am a good Peer of the Realm. I brought two 22-ounce bombers of good stout for His Majesty to celebrate his birthday. We shared the Stone Brewing Russian Imperial Stout, but the Rogue Chocolate Stout wound up staying in the cooler. I just drank it for him. I will bring him fresh stout next weekend.

6. I love the Internet -- especially wikipedia.

So I was doing some reading in advance of Hellboy II tomorrow night. I was re-reading the wikipedia entry, which mentioned Cthulu mythos, which led to Charles Stross and the novelette A Colder War online.

Absolutely brilliant, and if you don't get it, the wikipedia entry explains it. (I got it, oh . . . did I get it).
