1. So I come home tonight and the vacant grocery store next door is festooned with plastic sheet and "Asbestos Removal" signs. Hmmmmm.

The nice thing about living in a small town is that I had already heard it was about to be purchased/had been purchased by the second bank in town, the one that does not have a drive-through.

This oughta be interesting.

2. A Pelican, a Laurel and a Knight walk into a bar. They order and the bartender says, "How are we handling this?" The Pelican says, "Put it on my bill."

3. I really enjoyed this Anchorage News story on Sarah Palin's religion.

4. Ask Liam: Guess who gets e-mail when someone receives baseball spam?

5. Ask Liam's friends' list:

From the lovely [livejournal.com profile] alysten:

I am looking for some translation help... I have a friend who is looking to translate the following into medieval Latin: "Let the shit fly". My language skills are just not there yet, and I know that there someone who's is both snarky, and talented enough to either help me or point me in the right direction.  Thanks in advance!

6. I like my local newspaper, the Glens Falls Post-Star.

How can you not love an editorial that starts like this:

<td>Don't screw around. They're serious this time."

Local government officials might well heed this warning issued by Hoover to his fellow frat brothers in the movie "Animal House" when it comes to preparing their budgets for next year.

"Animal House" is not quoted nearly enough by editorial writers.

7. Very rarely do I finish a book in a span of 24 or so hours -- maybe 30. But "Black Magic Woman" by Justin Gustainis, is one of the best urban fantasies I have ever read. It's a badly overcrowded genre, but [livejournal.com profile] alethea_eastrid had brought it home, so I read it (she finished it today, so I could finish it). Outstanding!
