I think it took about seven minutes for me to leave my house, drive to the old courthouse, find out which rooom to go in, give them my name, wait about 30 seconds for a woman to finish, cast my vote and head back to the car an drive to work.

I love rural upstate NY!

I felt really good going into and out of the building. I felt like I was doing something that was right and something that was my right.

Kinda cool.

Oh, and maybe two or three minutes into the trip to work, I get a recorded phone call from Rudy Giuliani asking me to vote for his guy in the Congressional election. Dude. Too little, too late, and it wasn't gonna happen.

What's kinda cool is that the guy's opponent, is a female Democrat, who got endorsed by the sportsman and shooting clubs up here.

Well, we have momentum.

Let's keep going with this.

Folks, if you have not met Ernst, please see me at a Royal event, and I will give you the treat of your life.

;)

Anyway, he was the second Tyger of the East.

1. Welcome to ~malkinallardsen

2. I am having way too much fun wit hthe Tyger of the East stuff, and I have not posted a Liam Style post in days.

3. I love reading reports from the Board of Directors meetings, especially the "Publishable Summaries."

From the Society President:
While there have been a number of issues making this quarter rather more festive than usual, the SCA, Inc. continues to move forward into the future, while remembering and re-creating the past. It continues to be a good place for people to come and spend time with each other.

From the Society Seneschal:

I want to thank all of the SCA folks who keep finding ways to have fun, stay off Wife-Swap and CNN, spread good wishes, aid their fellows in need, and somehow fill the gas-tank (one credit application at a time) to support neighboring events.  We are learning to play the game a bit differently in order to thrive in a changing world.  The Known world bade farewell this quarter to some amazing souls, not least of which were Sir Ardral Argo Ver Kaeysc, the first Knight of the Society, and Duke Sir Morguhn Sheridan—who was long a symbol of accomplishment, encouragement, and generosity in Aethelmearc. Take some time to reach out to friends and loved ones, and make sure they know you care.

4. Meanwhile, over at SF Signal:

Q: Astronaut Buzz Aldrin said fantastic space science fiction shows and movies are partly responsible for the lack of interest in real-life space exploration among young people. Do you agree with this assessment? Why?

The answers rock, starting with JMS:

The only thing wrong with Buzz Aldrin's statement is that it's not true.

5. Saw deer in two spots on the way home today -- three in one spot and four in another.

6. I am gonna go crazy tonight, like everyone else, waiting for results to come in. I wish I could know about California Prop. 8 before the morning. I hope Florida goes the right way, too.

7. From Dan Kennedy's Media Nation blog:

If exit polls were votes . . .

Then Obama would be headed for
a huge victory. Actually, he wouldn't, as President Kerry would be standing for re-election. So let's wait and see.
