T-minus 24 (hours, not degrees)
Dec. 12th, 2008 11:57 amThanks for all your support and patience through this fund-raising process.
We’re down to the last 24 hours, and I wanted to share a few things with everyone, Liam-style:
1. We got a good, old-fashioned ice and snow storm overnight, but it’s supposed to be clear tomorrow. That clearing, of course, means an overnight low of about 8 degrees in Lake George.
2. The high for tomorrow, which was listed at something like 32 or 34 earlier in the week, is now listed at 14, and the wind-chill temperature is listed at 2 degrees.
3. Right now, Agni Dentati, all three of us, leads the team fund-raising category with $2,925. Saratoga Rugby Club is in second at $2.509, with the next two teams at $2,255 and $1,730. None of those teams have been moving much, if at all, the last few days, so I have to wonder if they are saving up for tomorrow, or if they are all done.
4. Thanks to the huge boost from yesterday and overnight, I am the leading individual fund-raiser at $2,585. Aaron Bifaro, who took the lead from me a month or so ago, is at $1,915, and last year’s top fund-raiser, Alys Prostack, is at $1,350. Neither of them have moved recently, so again, I wonder if they are done or bringing a lot of money tomorrow.
5. I will update later today, and if I have wireless access tomorrow, I will blog again tomorrow before I plunge.
6. My plan for after the Plunge is to go to Davidson Brothers’ Brewing in downtown Glens Falls for a couple of cold beers. ;) (And hot food). They usually have wireless, so I will try to get words and pictures out. I may have to wait until I get home for the pictures.
7. Last-minute donations always welcome at http://polarplunge.kintera.org/lakegeorge/billtoscano.
Edit: With just under 20 hours left until the plunge, I am at $2,810, and Agni Dentati is at $3,150. Both are leading for most money raised. Saratoga Rugby has added some money today.
Oh, and I know there is an individual (I do nto know if he is part of a team), who did all his fund-raising off-line and will be coming to the event with more than $2,000.
Thanks again!
