1. A hearty Liamverse welcome goes out to three new readers –[info]deafelis , [info]adhemarchartres

 and[info]xdaemon .

2. A lot of my friends are going to Gulf Wars. You oughta post here with some details on where you are going to be camping or how to get ahold of you. It would be fantastic if some of my friends could meet each other.

3. Speaking of which,[info]soldiergrrl  , who is a journalist for the Texas Army National Guard, will be there. She’s interested in talking to anyone who is in the National Guard and is going to Gulf Wars. You can leave a note here.

4. [info]alethea_eastrid   and I are looking for crash space for Mudthaw, both Friday and Saturday. The closer to Don Antonio’s house, the better, but we are not picky.

5. I want to thank[info]patrikia  , who sent me an article and a newspaper section on Philly Bear week and an article on why the Mets are douchebags. I love it!

6. I was more than 29 hours early for a meeting today. Of course the last time I was 24 hours early, I missed the meeting the next day, because I locked my keys in the car. Have I told that story?

7. I have gotten way behind in my correspondence. If you have asked anything of me lately, please drop a note here or in e-mail.

1.[info]alethea_eastrid  is headed to Gulf Wars, which means I will be out-and-abouting in Albany this Sunday and next Saturday. Ideas?

2. Only semi-related, three beer-related items from the Greater Capital region. A beer garden -- http://timesunion.com/AspStories/story.asp?storyID=778879 – will be opening in Albany next week. But the new Irish pub in Saratoga Springs will not open on St. Patrick’s Day, but rather on June 1. Finally. Cooper’s Cave Brewing in Glens Falls will be adding a bar and food.

3. I wish I was paying attention to the World Baseball Classic. I should be, but I am not.

4. I will turn 50 on March 31, and I am mulling over potential birthday events. Really unsure at this time. April 4 is a probable date.

5. I love it up here.

Take a look at a letter a local school official sent to a new hire:

6. This at least the second time a person has been arrested for DWI after driving to the Washington County Sheriff sub-station down the road from my house.

Glens Falls Post-Star

SALEM
-- A Shushan woman who drove her teenage son to the Washington County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday so he could be questioned about a grocery store burglary was arrested for felony driving while intoxicated, police said.

Judith Dacunha, 50, was arrested after she brought the 14-year-old boy to the Sheriff's Office as part of an investigation into a Feb. 13 burglary at Yushak's Store in Shushan.

Two 18-packs of beer were stolen during the burglary, according to police.

Sheriff's Deputy Robert Sullivan noticed the smell of alcohol on Dacunha's breath as he talked to her about the situation, and she was found to have a blood-alcohol level of 0.09 percent, according to the Sheriff's Office.

She was charged with felony DWI because she has a prior misdemeanor DWI conviction in 2002.

7. Spring is trying to break through here in the North Country, but it ain't doin' it right. We'll get nice days in the upper 40s or so, then light snow, then nice days, then back into the 20s. Not frigid, but not Spring.

The sheep are out at the farm on Route 29. There seems to be one lamb that must have been born over the winter, but there are no Spring lambs out yet.
