Dear Friends;

Life has been really, really busy lately, and I think I might have been overzealous in cleaning my e-mail box.

If I owe you a response for anything, or if you just want to poke me, please send me a note here or at my regular e-mail.

Thanks!

PS: I am hoping today will be a little more placid than yesterday.

Like a number of you, I am fascinated by the impact that twitter is having on the aftermath of the Iran elections.

But I always wonder about the other side of questions, so I pose the following questions to you:

1. Let's say the election went the other way and there were protests. Would people from outside Iran be as involved as they are now. Would they be advocating justice for President Ahmadinejad if he and his party were saying the election had been stoken from *them*.

2. How would Americans in general (insert Canadians or other appropriate nationality) feel if there had been an election here that split the country and people from the outside were pushing for one side or the other? We have had contested elections in 2000 and 2004, but I do not remember any outside pressure. (Of course, we did not have riots, either).

3. How closely *are* you following this. I know folks on this list are very involved with twitter.

4. Do you think the twitter pressure has changed the way the American media is covering the story. (I know some people think the U.S. media was slow to react, but the major papers (you need to look at the photo essay at the Boston Globe) have been doing a lot with it.

Thanks.

Liam
