1. I took tomorrow off in anticipation of traveling to Philadelphia, and I also have Columbus Day off. Yee-ha!

2. You now have the opportunity to donate to a countess!

My wife is jumping into the lake with us!

3. Facebook post of the day.

One of my former students posted her rather successful score on a sex position quiz on facebook.

I posted that I couldn't read the post, it made my head hurt.

She responded:

"A wise man once told me- rule #1 is don't visualize. Rule #2 if you must visualize, visualize in cartoons :)"

Which is even funnier if you know the "wise old man" was me, telling my students something I learned from the Calontiri List.

4. I cannot wait for KWAR/KWCS this weekend in Philadelphia. It's gonna rock. We should get in sometime tomorrow evening.

I suppose I better finish my lesson planning.

5. I cannot bring myself to care about David Letterman. Not at all.

6. Is Fox News getting worse, or did I just not notice before?

Another high school book controversy.

The guy's kid got it from a friend, who got it from a teacher.

7. More semi-random Calontiri song lyrics:

Draw up the spears on the hill-top at Hastings,
Fight till the sun drops and evening grows cold,
And die with the last of your Saxons around you,
Holding the land you were given to hold!

I am posting this here so people know about it.

I will arrange for proxy bids if you contact me at liamstliam@gmail.com

Lady Alesone will consult with you and make you a full set of fencing armor.

Doublet, shirt, pants/skirt, persona based armor.

Can be from any century or culture.

It will be 100 percent linen and 100 percent list legal.

The clothing is not limited to the doublet/shirt/lower leg covering of the 16th century that most fencers wear.

This could include waffenroks, coathardies, etc.

I will not be able to start the garment until Nov after the linen has been ordered and measurements secured.

The winning bid will cover up to 12 yards of fabric.

The bid includes 30 button closures (20 for the top, 10 for the rest).

If I need to order more than that, the winner needs to help cover the additional expense.

If the winner is not a fencer, or is not buying for a fencer, I am willing to entertain sewing regular garb (machine sewn, no hoop skirts, Elizabethan, or velvet).
