1. If you love Heather Dale as much as I do, please consider voting for her for a Pegasus Award here.

I also recommend S.J. Tucker and Batya as well.

2. Speaking of Pegasus winners (at least I think I am). Seanan McGuire is taking pre-orders for her new CD, Wicked Girls.

3. And her new book, "An Artificial Night" is also available.

4. Former Florida State football coach Bobby Bowden on what it was like when he got to the school in 1976.

New York Times

While I was growing up in Alabama, Crimson Tide fans had bumper stickers on their cars that said, “Beat Auburn!” When I coached at West Virginia, Mountaineers fans had stickers that said, “Beat Pitt!” At Florida State, they had stickers that said, “Beat Anybody!”

5. I am really excited for college football starting Thursday night! And local high schools Friday!

6. I love my friends! They keep me saner.

7. On cancer awareness and boobies.

I find myself thinking a lot lately, but not writing nearly enough.

There's definitely a relationship between starting to use facebook more and how often I really sit down and write about what I am thinking about.

(Please note, in typical Liam fashion, this post started being about the SCA and veered off)

Anyway, I came fairly late to facebook, sometime in the last year, and I find myself using it more and more. As a not, I do have twitter and it does have its uses -- mainly friends for whom it is the most reliable contact method -- but I really do not use it all that much.

I just looked, and I have been on facebook for about 10 months now. I think it would be fascinating to compare my LJ posting in say the last six months, when I have been using facebook more, to the time before that. I tend to use favebook for quick "How are you doin'?" message that I hope will get a series of responses and keep me distracted.

LJ, as you know, tends to be more for the seven-item Liam-style posts or the "thumb-suckers" like this one.

I really *like* LJ. It took me a long time to get to facebook, and I have never used myspace much at all. I have a presence on a  couple of other sites, but it's LJ that lies at the center of the Liamverse.

I do wish there was a better way to thread entries. Sometimes our discussion rally spiral off into the galaxy.

The funny thing is that while I see myself as a writer, I never saw myself as a diarist, yet that's what LJ has done for ,e.

The dishes are not doing themselves, nor are the errands. The corn chowder is not cooking itself, nor is the banana bread. "Feed" is not reading itself, and the cat litter, well . . . yuck.

But links? The links are posting thsemselves!

1. TV Tropes is the single best time-wasting site on the Intertubes.

I especially like the ones for Buffy, Babylon 5 and NCIS.

And what's better than Lampshade Hanging?

2. OK, Gluten Free Goddess looks like a good one!

3. If you are into gaming, you need to be reading Purple Pawn.

4. Living in the area and visiting Saratoga fairly regularly has me really excited about the new Secretariat movie.

5. Since there are several readers who work there or have worked there, here's the new Newton North High School.

6. Some of the best beer writing on the Internet is at Serious Eats.

7. Folk Alley lists its "100 Essential Folk Songs."
