Sunday morning: Some quick thoughts . . .

1. How did that happen?

I sat down this morning and looked at LJ and all of a sudden, I was at skip=240. I realized I hadn't checked it since Friday afternoon.

3. I am rather pleased I did *not* camp out at Coldwood last night.

4. This morning's article on preserving family history.

5. Apparently, there are yahoos on other people's local mailing lists, too.

6. It's really and truly Fall up here, with the weather and the tree colors. Drove out to Bennington, Vt., and back yesterday. Really, really pretty.

7. OK, quick shower, then off to a Volkswagen/Porsche show in Lake George.

Sunday evening: Good thing the day is over. That way I don't have to fire it . . .

1. I felt lousy all day. I was having some minor breathing issues, I am stuffy and I am a touch depressed.

2. On the way over to jenphalian's, I missed the second-to-the-bottom step and went down hard. Twisted right ankle, banged left shin and had a small bruise on my left forearm. I also pitched a six pack as I fell and lost two bottles of Saranac. (The cider and the Trout River Chocolate Oatmeal Stout survived.

3. Went to cover a Volkswagen car show in Lake George this morning. (Yes, vairavi, there was a card just like Adelaide there, but I didn't find anyone interested.)

I managed to go without a notebook, so I was taking notes on a manila folder that was in the car.

4. I mis-read a New York Times headline that said "Las Vegas faces its deepest slide since the 1940s as "deepest shit." That amused me.

5. I think B&Bs giving a free night to folks in the military or who are retired military is a warm and fuzzy thing.

6. OK, I have to say that I am surprised that there are states where it's legal to carry a gun in a bar.

I tend to support the Second Amendment, but I think I would choose teachers carrying guns over people being allowed to carry them in bars.

I understand the concept, and I think my problem with it is that it almost seems to encourage it. I know that's not the point, but that's how it comes off to me.
