More on blogging platforms
Apr. 9th, 2011 08:06 amFirst of all, I want to thank everyone for their insights and discussions on what was basically a rant.
I have learned some things from the thread, especially what
noveldevice and
tisiphone pointed out. Thanks to both of you for being gentle in pointing out what a bonehead I can be at times.
I realized I probably should at least back my stuff up, and DW is a fairly simple alternative to do that.
Maybe I do not worry about backing up as much as I should.
One of my favorite comments came from
rtropeano who said "The more and more different is getting to me."
I thought that was a great point. As I said there, I know that my dip in -- dearth of -- posting can be attributed to facebook. That's my primary mode of Internet communication right now.
The drop is also directly related to having a full-time job and not working from home as much.
One, I do not have the time, and two, while I can use facebook from -- and for -- work, it's quicker than posting to LJ, too.
I have repeatedly tried twitter, but I think it makes less sense without a mobile device. I do not have anything like that, and my fingers are too fat anyway.
I was keeping a couple of blogs, but they have gone by the wayside for various reasons.
So I am curious. What are your main methods of Internet communications these days? How have they changed? Why?
Thanks again!
