Friday morning: Looks like Spring
Apr. 15th, 2011 08:56 am1. I have to admit, it was pretty cool last weekend to finally post to LJ and see all the hits and comments. I felt missed. ;)
2. Some of these posts might repeat facebook, but I will try not to do that too much.
3. Today, it's sunny and bright, and I do not have to be in Granville by 8 a.m. (which is why I am sitting here typing at 8:07 a.m.). I cover the county board meeting on the third Friday, then I head up to the office. I don't have to leave here until 9:30 a.m., instead of 7:15 a.m.
4. Speaking of work, it's going well, though it's really intense. My Monday and Tuesday are your Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. It's a strange production style, and it means that the more I get done when it's slowing down on Thirsday and Friday, the easier the following week it.
The next two weeks are going to be really interesting because the publisher and his wife (who runs the business end of the paper) are going to South America. "I demand to speak to the publisher!" "I am sorry, there's no cell reception at Machu Picchu. Please call back in May."
5. I was going to post about Day of Silence, then I saw this specific link.
6. Fanboi squee! Mira Grant (Seanan Maguire) nominated for a Shirly Jackson award. This is fricking big-time. Link!
7. Here's a spellcheck a cross-section of my friends will appreciate. In my story about next weekend's Washington County Fiber tour, Microsoft wanted to replaced cria -- a baby alpaca -- with curia. ;)
We're getting a group together for next Saturday for the tour. Who is interested?
