A comment about Jena, Louisana
There are a number of discussions about the racial issues in Jena. La., in my friends' LJs.
I am listening to NPR's "Tell Me More, and I just heard something that sort of crystallizes the problem.
The host was interviewing two ministers, one Black, one White.
The White minister says, "We are a very religious town. If I walk down the street, I can count 14 churches."
The Black minister responds: "All churches or White churches."
White minister: "White churches."
Black minister: "Well, we have six churches."
The Black minister went on to say he thought there were two many churches, too much division.
But my point is that when the White minister counted churches, he *only* counted white churches.

If you are going to Pennsic from the eastern part of the East Kingdom and get off I-80 at Exit 6 (Clarion) to take the route south to Butler - and thence to Pennsic - you will find 13 [or was it 23?] DIFFERENT denominations of church before you even get to the Susquehannah river, and not one of them is Catholic, BTW.
We found the route the hard way: over 90*+ temperature, no air conditioning and following an 18-wheeler carrying "human garbage" for far too many miles in a slowed-down construction zone. We were desperate, checked the map - and took the detour. We've done that several times since, which is when we counted the number of different denominations we'd noticed before.
Mind you, someone once described the various religions as everyone looking at the same sun through different coloured windows... I liked that!

My initial thought was, "sure only white churches, they paint them brown when they turn them into theaters." (see: http://www.chocolatechurcharts.org/)
