I cannot remember the last time I raced to the comic section to follow a story line.

Gary Trudeau has always had a strong impact with me, but this week's strips, about B.D. being injured in Iraq, are extremely powerful. I find myself wondering what's going to happen next.

Personally, I think he should be on the Editorial Page, but I love his stuff.

Oddly enough, another of my favorite strips is also doing something on an injured soldier back from Iraq.

Check out Get Fuzzy at http://www.getfuzzy.com/

If you don't get the cruller joke from Wednesday's strip, just ask.

We do run Doonesbury on the opinion pages (usually the Letters page) except on Sunday, which runs in the funnies. We had to run an editor's note with tomorrow's because of the "son of a bitch" comment. The publisher wanted to go with an alternative, but there wasn't one, so we explained that we felt it was appropriate, given the context.
