Yes, cross-posted from Newsroom and Journalism

But this time I corrected the spelling of "fascinated."

I am really looking forward to the Doonesbury fallout today.

I am fascinated to see who ran it and who didn't.

I have to admit, I was surprised when I got my Boston Globe this morning and there was white space, some text explaining why it was not there, and a (Globe) website to see it at. (I just hit Google News to find out that Green Bay News-Chronicle didn't run it, and Tallahassee did.

Both ran explainers.

The Green Bay one: http://www.gogreenbay.com/page.html?article=125417 is really well-done.

Tallahassee is here: http://www.tallahassee.com/mld/democrat/news/opinion/8496151.htm

A Providence Journal article said the ProJo and Dallas Morning News would run it. Mobile (Ala.) ran it, too.

I thought it was a very powerful comic.

Of course, Get Fuzzy just depressed me because I am a Red Sox fan.

What did your local papers do?

Of course, Get Fuzzy just depressed me because I am a Red Sox fan.

PS: Explainer for those who haven't seen it. B.D., a regular character, loses his leg in Iraq, and one of the lines today is "Son of a bitch."

I don't usually read Doonesbury but this storyline caught my eye (I have it on myYahoo whether I'm reading it or not). It didn't even occur to me that B.D.'s commentary was out of place in a comic strip. It really was the right way to write that frame. And I the doctor's comment made me giggle. I am a total Get Fuzzy fan... the last frame of that comic had me giggling and sad this morning.

It's good that the war is coming home to the comics pages. Regardless of whether or not one supports the war, one shouldn't be allowed to forget that it's happening and the consequences that spill in its wake. It's a good slap in the face for the anti-war people who need to get off their butts and get out and vote. It's also a good way to educate the pro-war folks in what the whole picture is so that they know exactly what they're supporting. I'm all for an informed public. :)
