1. So for this weekend, I have pumped Dan Kennedy's blog and [livejournal.com profile] fireroseboudic's Yankees' blog.

Next up is Shayara, [livejournal.com profile] shadesong's long-awaited project.

Here's her blurb:

Shayara is an urban-fantasy illuminated manuscript. (As it's not 100% illustrated, I don't know that you can call it awebcomic.) It will start in earnest on March 2, and by publishedthereafter on Tuesdays and Thursdays; you'll always get at least onepage, but generally, you'll get as much as the story demands.

2. Another one, this time an e-book for the lovely [livejournal.com profile] safirasilv:

Here's the link  for it.

3. Any suggestions on things [livejournal.com profile] evil_nicola and [livejournal.com profile] theresat should do in Berlin next week? Any suggestions on what they should bring home for their Dad?

4. St. Louis loses an institution:

Sporting News magazine is moving the rest of its operations from St. Louis to parent company American City Business Journals Inc.'s corporate headquarters in Charlotte, N.C., said Ray Shaw, chairman of American City Business Journals.

5. Ya know, I am a Diehard, but I just cannot get exciting about Spring Training games.

Edited to fix weirdness.

I still need to call someone in the Central Army Group and see if we can ramp up the readiness level of our troops in Germany...just in case.

Or I could just call the Russians. It'd be faster.

Thank you. Let's see if I can maintain the breakneck pace of a weekly column...

I used to. Then I realized they don't count for anything, and after watching some ST games on ESPN, I realized it's just batting/pitching practice with some running and catching.

I don't get excited by the ST games themselves. But there is a lot of information to be gleaned from them about outlooks and concerns and prospects for the upcoming season, as well as gauging the state of each player's progress in getting up to normal playing speed (or, more importantly, in recovering from a prior injury). Early in March the latter gets more attention, but as the month goes on we look more and more towards the former.
