1. So
ladytwnks pointed out the
what_a_crock community, which is focused on crockpot cooking. So, I join, and the fourth entry is:
Rocky Road Candy in the Crockpot
You gotta love it.
2. From NPR:
In Toby Barlow's debut novel, Sharp Teeth, competing packs of werewolves have plans to take over Los Angeles. But if Barlow's book reads less like science fiction and more like a heroic epic poem, that's because it's written in free verse.
Please follow this link to an excerpt. It is unlike anything I have read before. It is ground-breaking in the way that World War Z was. Trust me on this -- Liam
3. This link to an NPR story on Mike Rowe is for
theresat.
4. Heya,
lbitw, this made me think of you:

5. Did I say "Spring?" It's supposed to get down to 11 degrees tonight, and there's the possibility of snow (or rain) tomorrow night. The high tomorrow will be 45 or so.

Date: 2008-03-25 03:55 am (UTC)newer ones, the "warm" setting is the same as the "low" setting for the older ones. therefore, cooking times need to be adjusted accordingly.

Date: 2008-03-25 05:43 am (UTC)The time period that most everyone else calls spring is positively lovely here, but it's a bit like autumn in New England... I'd appreciate it more if I wasn't bracing myself for what comes after. Plus I'm stuck inside, which is downright painful when the weather is so nice.
Miss you.

Date: 2008-03-25 04:13 pm (UTC)As for spring, I fear it's my fault. I bought winter-hardy pansies yesterday, and now the entire northeast is getting a cold snap below their cold-hardiness point.
