1. Meeting with the school officials went really well this morning. Afternoon session with brand-new therapist (who looks a little like [livejournal.com profile] laurion and/or [Unknown site tag]annodomini) was good but draining. Tomorrow will be focused on finishing a big report, then doing laundry.

2. While I think a Hilary Clinton presidency could potentially lead to Armageddon, I do feel badly for her today. She won the fricking primary. But the stories say she "lost" because she didn't win by enough. Sheesh. This is gonna get ugly, and John McCain scares me, too.

Note, I was thinking that even aside from her threatening to go Medieval on Iran's ass.

3. I missed most of the "Open Source Boob Project" fiasco, but there's plenty to read about it.

From The Ferrett Himself

And John Scalzi weighs in because he clearly thinks people expect him too.

And, no, you may not touch my tits or my ass. Thanks.

4. Personal opinion: You cannot write a memoir at 15. It's like high school seniors saying, "Back in the day."

LA Times:

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Miley Cyrus, the 15-year-old teen idol better known as "Hannah Montana," plans to write a memoir about her journey to stardom, the Disney Book Group said on Tuesday.

The book, to be published by Disney-Hyperion Books and scheduled to hit bookshelves next spring, will trace her life from her roots in the Southern United States to Hollywood celebrity and will feature photographs from her famous family.

Cyrus is the daughter of country singer Billy Ray Cyrus, who rose to fame with 1992's "Achy, Breaky Heart. In recent years, Miley has rocketed to her own stardom as "Hannah Montana" on the Disney Channel's TV show of the same name about a girl who leads a double life as a teenager and singing sensation.

5. If you live in the North Country, you might want to prepare for this weekend. [livejournal.com profile] evilnicola is coming to visit for only the second time. The Adirondacks will never be the same.

Hilary is in debt and begging for money. Obama doesn't have to. One thing I can say for sure is that if the Democratic party takes the nomination away from him and bascially gives it to her, then I can see a new party being formed from that.

She only won by 10%. That is not creaming him like the pundits are saying. She still needs money and lots of it.

I would never vote for that lying bottom feeder and her husband, since it's the two of them running. If she gets..I mean if she is handedt he nomination, I'm leaving the party and not voting as I won't vote for McCain. Really though, what't the difference? She now sounds like she wants to start WWIII.

My fear with Hilary is exactly that - in order to 'prove' her resolve, 'macho-ness' or what have you, she may be more inclined to pick a hard option in dealing with nations like Iran so as not to look weak.

Re: 4, if one can reasonably expect one's career to be over by 20, a memoir at 15 begins to make more sense...

There are exceptions to the rule.

You may touch me anywhere you . . .

Oh, I am not gonna say that.

I'm definately one in the shy category about touching people. I will hug sometimes if appropriate and I've grabbed the boob of a friend (Hey! It was a game of Spoons and we were wrestling over the last one. Of COURSE you go for any option!) but the whole thing about asking some lady if I can touch her boobs is just weird to me.

But there is also an interesting double-standard when it comes to intimate contact. At Gulf Wars last year there were women going around the Known World Party groping the butts of both men and women alike and judging them. Of course they asked, but the fact they were doing it and nobody really had any problems with it is what strikes me as strange. The same goes for the years of "tight buns" contests I've seen and participated in.

The issue is that it seems to be perfectly acceptable for women to be doing these things, in addition to the Amazon Household slave auction and such. But if men were going in groups asking to grab women's behinds and giving them a score the scandal would reach nuclear proportions.

But I also kind of take issue with gender specific businesses where it is okay for a minority to be exclusive but anything exclusive to White Male is verboten.
Take "Curves" as a prime example. If I were to open a gym that specifically said "No Women" the picket line would be up the next day. There was a clothes shop in Oklahoma called "Soul Boutique" for "The Discriminating Black Man" and not a peep. Let me open "Aryan Boutique, for the discriminating White Man" and let's step back from the firebombs.

The "boob check" is on the surface no different from the "butt check" I've experienced for years. But, because it is to women, it is now a subject of controversy.

On top of that, from reading Ferret's original post.. I think "no" is an appropriate answer, and one that would be accepted and respected.

I think many of the people stripping their gears and getting all frothy about this, are missing that fact. It's not like throngs of horny, misanthropic, basement dwelling con-creatures will be tear-assing around the place randomly groping women en-masse.
