Edited to fix Boskone entry and add Obama comment.

1.  When I looked at the thermometer this morning, it said -1.5. When [livejournal.com profile] alethea_eastridchecked the memory function, it showed a low of -11.5. Wow.

Winter storm warning starting at 5 p.m. Looking at 6-12 inches.

2.  Really pumped up today. Maybe because I have so much to do at work. I do enjoy being busy.

3. I need to read "Staying Dead," by Laura Ann Gilman by this weekend. She's the guest of honor at Boskone, and I bought the book last year, had her sign it and promised I would be able to talk to her about it. Same for :Dark Wing," by Walter Hunt, which I got about halfway through. I feel like a Maunche, sewing for a big A&S event. ;) I

It turns out, as you will see below, that this entry, while possibly cool is not correct. Laura Ann Gilman was the guest at Arisia, which I missed, and is not on the Boskone list. I shall endeavor to finish the Hunt book, though I am slogging through it.

4. I cannot believe pitchers and catchers report in a couple of days. I usually start the countdown at 100 or at least around the start of the New Year. I am very excited, and I am glad we signed Youklis.

5. Time to head out and hope the truck and car will start. ;) Then come home and hunker down for the storm.

6. (Added at work): I was thinking about today's primaries. I think if Sen. Obama sweeps, it means a lot for him. It might even turn the corner. The bigest loss in my mind is that Sen. Clinton positions herself as the insider, has been there for a lot longer and really needs this.

1. I am glad I am going to an event/con this weekend. I have had no new readers sign on in almost a week.

2. Yeah, so the forecast is for snow to start any time now, get heavy overnight, then turn to the dreaded "wintry mix" sometime before dawn. (I think it started.)

3. Second call for a template that will help me do LiveJournal name tags for this weekend. Otherwise, I am gonna wing it. Who's gonna want one?

4. Great Big Sea, along with Carbon Leaf and other Canadian bands, did a music cruise last month. There are plenty of videos of it up, and they include new songs such as "Straight to Hell" and "Walking On The Moon," which will be on the new album when it comes out. (I do not know when).

Start here. There are more than two pages.

5. Speaking of YouTube (which I used to avoid), great rugby video of UB40 doing "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot." No, there are no hand motions.

6. Is there anyone who would be willing to sing "Born on the Listfield" for my "Liam doesn't sing SCA songs" class at K&Q Bardic?

7. Speaking of which, anyone wanna donate something cool for the auction at K&Q Bardic?

8. If you search for "hockey fight" on YouTube, you get about 27,500 hits. The TV footage on one of them includes a "Tale of the Tape." I love it.

1. Dinner was cheeseburgers with Herbed Chevre, along with German potato salad and peas.

2. I made someone from Trimaris snarf Mountain Dew on her screen when I posted, in a thread about title-stacking:

The one I like is a Pelican and.or Laurel and/or Knight who also has a White Scarf or equivalent.

That would be Master Don, or in Boston, Masta Don.

3. The problem with knowing that the Washington Post is the best site to use on a primary night is that everyone else knows it, too.

4. Rule No. 23 of the Liamverse:

"The boar spear is not a sex toy."

5. I don't usually get a little shivery when Supreme Court justicestalk, but in a BBC interview I heard this afternoon, Antonin Scalia said this:

"I suppose it's the same thing about so-called torture. Is it really so easy to determine that smacking someone in the face to determine where he has hidden the bomb that is about to blow up Los Angeles is prohibited in the constitution?" he asked.

More here

6. Oh, and how did I miss the fact that the Berkeley city council declared the U.S. Marines recruiting office unwelcome.?

Read the comments. OMFG.

I have no issue with Brattleboro voting to impeach the president and vice president, but I really disagree with the Berkeley deal.
