1. Call it "Master Liam's Wild Ride." So after eight sometimes-stultifying hours learning about the history of the The War On Poverty, I headed home from Lake George. I knew there was a tornado watch and, as I was driving, found out that there was also a severe thunderstorm warning. Yeah, "severe" is one way to look at it. I drove through the heart of the storm, with three bolts landing in the nearby woods and the horizontal rain pelting everything on my front seat until I pulled over and rolled up the passenger-side window. I got ahead of  the storm, and when I got home, Main Street in Salem had dust swirling around like a scene from "High Plains Drifter." The wind was coming from all directions, but the sky did not turn green. Then there was hail. But, yay, it is much cooler!

2. Oh, and to the folks who felt they had to be oh-so cool and leave their phones on even after the guest speaker reminded us to turn them off: "You are not so important that you have to leave it on!"

Of course, I forgot mine at home.

3. It was kinda neat to be on the shores of Lake George in 90 degree weather, when I remember being there Dec. 1 to dive in for Special Olympics.

4. Foster's Daily Democrat. a newspaper in New Hampshire, ran profiles of the top 10 seniors at Somersworth High School.

I thought this one was cool:

Michele Millers is the daughter of Janis and Gisele Millers of Somersworth.

She is a member of the Somersworth Future Farmers of America (FFA) chapter, a member of the National Technical Honor Society, and archer of Stonemarche in the society for creative anachronism (SCA).

Michele will be attending the University of New Hampshire in the fall to pursue a degree in English teaching for a secondary school.

5. I had written earlier about a local baby who had been murdered by his mother's boyfriend.

Here is the sentencing story.

6. Thanks got out to ~ldykatrina
