1. I am giggly-happy to welcome two new folks to the Liamverse this morning. We are joined by
dagmarhalvdan and
an_sceal.
Please make them feel welcome. Or mock them. As you wish. ;)
2. Life continues, as my wife would say, apace. I am working on a wide variety of things, and that means the traditional LJ updates are lagging. I think it's been 11 days since I have gone Liam-Style.
3. If you want to keep up with me, please check out my two blogs.
I am writing about my job-hunting experience at "Working Press" and catching up on a lot of unwritten posts at "Short Pours."
4. Boosting the Signal: Is there anyone from the Montreal area who will be at Kingdom A&S this weekend and can bring something back? Please drop me a line.
5.; I find myself still listening to CBC Radio from Vancouver, even though the Olympics are over.
6. The good news is that it's basketball playoff season up here. Tonight will be my third game in a row. I don't think there's anything tomorrow, but I have hockey Saturday, basketball Sunday and then we look into next week. It will be really busy over the last two weekends of March. The Civic Center up here hosts the state public school and Federation tournaments. The local paper has been being really good to me, giving me games to do, and I should be able to work for some out-of-town papers, too.
7. There are two new books out that I highly recommend.
Seanan McGuire's "A Local Habitation," hit the streets this week. You need it. It's the second book in the series that started with "Rosemary and Rue."
Also, Robert Conroy does a wicked cool series of alternate military history books, and his latest -- "Red Inferno 1945" -- is out. I have not read it yet, but you can trust me on this.
