The school at which tomorrow's East Kingdom 12th Night event was to be held has informed the site coordinator the school will be closed down because of a forecast of a serious snow storm.

EK 12th Night will be held next Saturday, Jan. 17. There were no other viable options, and Their Majesties apologize in advance to al-Hafla and the Kingdom of Acre.

I would ask you not contact the event steward with any issues until next week. Things are very hectic right now.

We will have a week to make sure everything comes off as well as it can.

If you have any questions/comments/concerns, please contact me at liamstliam@gmail.com

I do not have posting access to the household list or the Ladies In Waiting list. Could someone pass it on, please?

Thank you,

Master Liam St. Liam

OK, for those of us who are just watching (and wishing things were better for our friends in the EK) I am a bit confused. I grew up near Washingtonville and the fact that the event is being clobbered by a threat of snow is strange to me. When things calm down, I'd like to hear more.

The school pulled their permission to use the site, apparently citing insurance issues.

As in pulled it for just this weekend? Or completely?

(Sorry, not trying to ask dumb questions... I find this all quite surprising...)

From what it sounds like, just this weekend, due to the snow.

I'm baffled too. People seem to get more and more skeered of snow as time goes on, even those in snowy climes who really ought to get used to it.

/milford, pa environs, yay. If I was scared of snow I'd never leave my house.
//okay, I do never leave my house, but that's for other reasons.

It's more that they're scared of any possible repercussions of having the building open: they may need school staff on site while it's in use, and they don't want to put their staff at risk. They may also not want to have to make plowing the parking lot a priority for the town plows, or they may require a police officer on site who will be needed elsewhere.
